Oggi tra le notizie più discusse, oltre alle solite faccende politiche, c'è lo stupore nel constatare che una modella, Francesca Lancini, sia riuscita anche a scrivere un libro e divenire “scrittrice”. Questo dovuto al fatto che sempre più spesso si considera impossibile che la “bellezza” sia accompagnata anche da “intelligenza”.
A parte questi pregiudizi che non condivido, la cosa che mi ha più colpito è stato il fatto che nel libro “senza tacchi” si parli di una modella che descrive con amarezza e squallore il mondo della moda.
Appare quasi un'autobiografia della scrittrice che racconta la moda con cattiveria e lucidità, composto da personalità deviate, inutili, stanche, affamate e pericolose, modelle senza nome trattate come pezzetti di carne e vite senza senso.
La protagonista del libro, Sofia Martini, si ribella alle frivolezze della moda, che è solo una manifestazione della malattia del momento: la superficialità. Urla l'importanza delle emozioni, combatte contro gli sguardi spenti e va in cerca di quelle risposte che, a volte, è difficile dare anche a se stessi. Senza tacchi è il romanzo di formazione di una ragazza che cerca se stessa oltre la sua bellezza, che come un flanuer dei nostri tempi, compie un viaggio nel mondo non per amarlo, ma per verificarne come sia fatto.
